Fremont High School has a long legacy of excellence in performing arts. While here, students have the opportunity to learn and grow from one of the best performing arts programs in the state. Not only will they get the chance to work with highly qualified, awarded, and passionate faculty, but they get teachers who care about the whole student well-being and offer well-rounded opportunities for learning and development.

MRS. AUBREY OBRAY

Aubrey Obray has been teaching Theatre Arts at Fremont since 2009. Theatre arts is a soul stirring endeavor and empowering students to be the best versions of themselves through the creative process is her true calling.  Mrs. Obray earned her BA in Theatre Teaching and English teaching at Weber State University. She was awarded the Wildcat Theatre full tuition scholarship for 4 years. While attending WSU, she also earned the backstage award, the Nye Foundation scholarship, the Elmer Ericson Memorial scholarship,  the Excellence in Service award, and was inducted as a member of Alpha Psi Omega theatre honor society.  As an undergraduate, Mrs. Obray participated in the Utah Undergraduate Research Symposium with her Dramaturgy work for the production of West Side Story. Mrs. Obray earned her MA in English Literature with an emphasis in dramatic literature in 2012.  In her time at Fremont High School, Mrs. Obray has been nominated for "First Year Teacher of the Year," received "teacher of the month" (thrice), and the "Master Teacher Award" from the Utah Advisory Council of Theatre Teachers.  Additionally, Mrs. Obray serves on the board of directors for the Utah Theatre Association, and is a member of the NEA, UACTT, and the Educational Theatre Association.  She believes strongly in the EDTA mission that ARTS EDUCATION IS ESSENTIAL. "It is imperative that all students have access to an equitable delivery of arts education that includes dance, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts that supports their educational, social, and emotional well-being, taught by certified professional arts educators in partnership with community arts providers."  Want to work with Mrs. Obray? MRS. ASHLEY PATTERSON 

Ashley Patterson joined the Fremont team in 2021. She graduated with a BA in Theatre Arts and a minor in Dance, from Weber State University in spring of 2020. She has always loved being hands-on and expressing her creative side. She has been married since August of 2015. She has a  5 year old son and a 1 year old daughter.

Some things that  she loves beyond her family and theatre are: anything and everything Disney, building and displaying Legos,  playing games on Nintendo Switch, and eating salty snacks. She loves being at Fremont High School and Is very excited about the upcoming year/season.
