CLASS AUDITIONS 

REP THEATRE/PLAY PRODUCTIONS AUDITION REQUIREMENTS 

WHEN: WEDNESDAY APRIL 30, 2025

WHERE: AUDITORIUM 

WHAT: 

Step 1- Fill out the application above--please read it carefully and thoroughly WITH your parents/guardians. 

Step 2- Come to the auditorium at the appointed time! You will participate in some group movement exercise and  scenes from Mockingbird, followed by some cold readings from Mockingbird, then you will sing your musical selection! 

Step 3-Please prepare 16-32 (approximately 1 minute) measures of any of the songs from Raise Your Voice: a Broadway Musical Revue

"Right Before Your Eyes" - Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach 

"The Spark of Creation" - Children of Eden 

"Matchmaker" - Fiddler on the Roof 

"So Much Better" - Legally Blonde 

"Agony" - Into the Woods 

"We're All in This Together" - Disney's High School Musical 

"Consider Yourself" - Lionel Bart's Oliver! 

"Part of Your World" - Disney's The Little Mermaid 

"Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat" - Guys and Dolls 

"Good Morning" - Singin' in the Rain 

"These Palace Walls" - Disney's Aladdin 

"Step in Time" - Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins 

"Raise Your Voice" - Sister Act 

"Beautiful City" - Godspell 

"A Part of Us/Why We Tell the Story" - Once on This Island 

**As you can see there is a wide variety of music here. So, choose something that suits you the best. You may look up the "karaoke" instrumental  versions on youtube as your audition accompaniment. 

Step 4- There are three groups of scenes--ensemble scenes, and then some duo scenes. Below is a list of potential scenes with page numbers AND the PDF of the entire play.  IT IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED THAT YOU READ THE WHOLE PLAY! Most important thing to consider is that the main character in this play is an 11 year old autistic  girl and must be portrayed with authenticity AND sensitivity.  MOCKINGBIRD SCRIPT
