What is International Thespian Society ? 

The International Thespian Society is the only theatre honor society for middle and high school students in the United States. Affiliation brings credibility and distinction to students, theatre programs, and schools. It is a visible, positive symbol of the quality of your theatre program.

ITS recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre – performance and production. Each student is honored on a national level and gains access to opportunities and resources beyond those of their school.

What is a Theatre Academic Letter and Requirements? 

An Academic Letter is a recognition for PACKDRAMA students who go above and beyond the standard. An Academic Letter must be earned by showing dedication, discipline, and exceptional participation in PACKDRAMA. Student may apply for an Academic Letter 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.  To earn the Theatre Letter, students must complete the following (and apply using the form below): 

1-You must be a member of a theatre arts class for a full year for 11th and/or 12th grade or a semester for 10th grade. 

2-You must maintain an average of a B grade in your theatre classes for the year. 

3-You must have no more than 8 absences in your theatre classes throughout the school year AND maintain attendance eligibility. 

4- You must complete three (3) of the following: 

a. Participate in the fall musical 

b. Participate in the ADV/REP children’s show and/or Christmas play OR THEATRE ½ Semester performance (60 in 60 or spring play) 

c. Participate in competition (any category) 

d. Participate in Center Stage Showcase 

e. Participate in the  Productions full length play/musical (this is typically done in productions class) 

5-You must be inducted as a member of International Thespian Society  and earn at least 20 points throughout the year you wish to letter. 

6-Maintain a good attitude and discipline throughout the year: memorization, focus, attendance and punctuality, work ethic, and abide by the community agreements.
